GALESBURG — The Carl Sandburg College Board of Trustees held its regular monthly meeting July 28 on the Main Campus in Galesburg.

Trustees approved the appointment of two program coordinators for the 2022-23 academic year. Laura Rider will serve as the program coordinator for diagnostic imaging, and Cathy Gebru will serve in that role for the medical assistant program.

Accounting instructor Mollisa Kurz was sworn in as the faculty representative to the Board, and Jasmin McDaniel was sworn in as the student representative to the Board for 2022-23.

In other business, the Board approved the following:
• Reimbursement to five students from the EMS paramedic program for tuition paid from 2020-22, with a maximum of $7,040 per student.
• Employment of Emily Schaeffer as dean of nursing professions, effective Aug. 1.
• Resignation of Amanda Allen as coordinator of instructional technology and support services, effective July 31.
• Resignation of David Staley as director of public safety, effective July 5.
• Resignation of Jerry Thor as athletic director, effective July 31.
• Resignation/retirement of Larry Wright as full-time automotive technology faculty, effective June 30.

The Board’s next scheduled meeting is 7 p.m. Aug. 25 on the Main Campus in Galesburg.
